Manufacturing Engineer – Technical Writing & Process Documentation

📍 Location: Endicott, NY 13761

🕒 Schedule: Monday-Friday | Normal Business Hours

📄 Duration: 12+ Month Contract (Potential Extension or Direct Hire Based on Performance)

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer – Technical Writing & Process Documentation to support manufacturing operations by developing, converting, and improving manufacturing work instructions and procedures. This role is ideal for candidates with strong technical writing skills, manufacturing process knowledge, and a passion for continuous improvement using Lean principles.

Responsibilities:

• Create, maintain, and improve manufacturing work instructions and procedures
• Convert existing manufacturing instructions into updated systems and formats
• Support continuous process improvement initiatives utilizing Lean assembly principles
• Develop assembly, disassembly, soldering, coating, and component installation/removal procedures
• Design operation sequences and manufacturing methods to enhance efficiency and product quality
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and product requirements.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years of manufacturing engineering or related experience
• Strong technical writing and documentation experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Manufacturing or electronics production background
• Experience creating detailed work instructions within MES systems
• Knowledge of electronics or manufacturing processes
• Experience with CAD or visual work instruction tools
• Associate Degree, Technical Certification, or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Electronics, or related Engineering disciplines
• Experience with MES systems is a plus
