Manufacturing Project Manager Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Project Manager to lead cross-functional projects that deliver high-quality production solutions for medical device and high-precision manufacturing environments. The role is responsible for planning, executing, and closing projects on time, within scope and budget while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for equipment installations, process transfers, production ramp-ups, and continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing settings.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies; track progress and report status to stakeholders.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, operations, supply chain, and external suppliers to meet project milestones and deliverables.
• Manage supplier selection, qualification, and performance for tooling, equipment, and subcontracted services; ensure supplier compliance to specifications and delivery timelines.
• Ensure projects comply with medical device regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485) and internal quality systems; support design transfer, process validation, IQ/OQ/PQ and documentation control.
• Drive process improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and best practices to increase throughput, reduce scrap, and improve yield in high-precision manufacturing.
• Perform risk assessments (e.g., FMEA), change control, and root cause analyses to resolve production issues and prevent recurrence.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including budgets, capital expenditure requests, risk registers, technical specifications, and status reports.
• Facilitate effective communication with senior management and stakeholders, delivering clear progress updates, escalation plans, and post-project lessons learned.
• Mentor project team members on project management discipline, manufacturing processes, and regulatory expectations to build organizational capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or related field and/or experience
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in manufacturing, with demonstrated experience in medical device or regulated product environments.
• Proven experience in high-precision manufacturing, including machining, assembly, or micro-manufacturing processes.
• Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical device regulatory requirements (FDA QSR, ISO 13485) and experience supporting design transfer and process validation activities.
• Strong skills in project planning tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar), ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and proficiency with data analysis tools and technical drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, suppliers, and cross-functional teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodology (Green/Black Belt preferred), and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
