A day in this role

Your morning begins with a scan of process capability dashboards and sampling plans. You fine-tune control strategies, communicate quality performance metrics, and coach associates on test execution and data reporting. Midday, you’re reviewing UL, ETL, and CSA compliance records, planning internal audits for the NA QMS, and qualifying inspection, measuring, and test equipment using MSA. In the afternoon, you’re collaborating with production, engineering, and the lab to analyze trends with statistical methods, drive corrective actions, and prepare for customer onsite or offsite visits. You close the day aligning on continuous improvement projects, supplier audit follow-ups, and any additional priorities from the Quality Manager.

  • Maintain compliance documentation for UL, ETL, CSA, and other external bodies.

  • Use statistical analysis to evaluate trends; lead or collaborate on corrective actions.
  • Investigate, assess, and report customer-returned product.
  • Lead and coordinate corrective actions; host or support customer visits (onsite/offsite).
  • Champion plant quality requirements and certifications; identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support ad hoc priorities as directed by the Quality Manager.
  • Develop/qualify inspection, measuring, and test equipment (MSA); engage suppliers for audits, certifications, and purchased material concerns.
  • Lead activities that enable new processes and new business.
  • Serve as an internal auditor for the NA QMS.
  • Partner with the laboratory team as needed.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
