What they need

Rex.zone is hiring a mid-senior Manufacturing Robotics Engineer to deliver autonomous robotics solutions for real-world manufacturing environments—from concept through commissioning and continuous improvement. This role is structured for remote collaboration across US-based teams, with occasional travel for commissioning, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and integrate robotics systems (robot arms, EOAT, conveyors, sensors, AMRs/AGVs)
  • Develop and maintain robotics software (ROS/ROS2 nodes, perception pipelines, motion planning, state machines)
  • Commission and validate robot cells (calibration, teach pendant workflows, acceptance testing)
  • Integrate industrial controls: PLC/safety PLC, HMI/SCADA, and networks (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, OPC UA)
  • Implement machine vision workflows (lighting, lensing, hand-eye calibration, defect detection, pose estimation)
  • Drive reliability practices: logging, alarms, PM procedures, spares strategy, and downtime RCA
  • Create documentation (I/O maps, SOPs, risk assessments, safety compliance artifacts)
  • Partner with manufacturing engineering, quality, and IT/OT to improve throughput, uptime, and OEE

Required Qualifications

  • Mid-senior experience delivering manufacturing robotics or industrial automation systems
  • Strong robotics fundamentals: kinematics, frames, calibration, motion control
  • ROS/ROS2 experience and production-grade software practices
  • PLC integration experience (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley or Siemens preferred)
  • Python and/or C++ proficiency for robotics tooling, integration, and debugging
  • Machine vision and factory sensor stack familiarity (2D/3D cameras, lidars, encoders, F/T)
  • Industrial safety understanding (risk assessment, safety IO, interlocks, E-stops)
  • Production debugging skills using data, logs, and structured RCA methods

Benefits / Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate: $30–$50/hr
  • Remote-first collaboration with occasional travel as needed
  • Ownership of deployments with measurable factory impact (cycle time, downtime, OEE)

How To Apply Apply via Rex.zone and include a brief summary of deployed manufacturing robotics projects (robot type, PLC/vision stack, commissioning outcomes, and measurable production impact). Links to portfolios, code samples, or documentation are welcome.
