Hyundai Motor Company

Who we are
We are a team that develops Robot-Friendly (RF) systems for the practical deployment and operation of humanoid robots in automotive assembly processes, as well as core middleware that connects robots with on-site systems. Beyond simple system integration, we build autonomous operations solutions that enable robots to independently assess and respond to exceptions through AI agent-based intelligent operations frameworks.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will design scalable and reusable architectures and capabilities that can be applied regardless of robot type or on-site system configuration, and conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) validation prior to deployment to accelerate robot commercialization.
■ Robot-to-Factory System Integration Architecture Design

Designing high-level integration architectures that define data and control flows between robots, on-site equipment, and operational systems

Defining roles, responsibilities, and system boundaries, and establishing reusable standard interface architectures for seamless integration of new robots and equipment

Developing adapter middleware that converts and integrates heterogeneous communication protocols (e.g., HTTP, gRPC, TCP/IP, and Modbus) into a standardized interface framework

■ AI Agent-Based Intelligent Operations Framework Development

Developing AI agent logic that assesses causes and proposes alternatives when task failures or exceptions occur, such as material shortages or recognition errors

Building an orchestration layer that autonomously reallocates tasks and adjusts priorities based on robot status, task history, and on-site data

Developing anomaly analysis, personnel notification, and decision support capabilities using LLMs and generative AI

■ Safety, Quality, and Work-Order Reliability

Implementing hazard detection and automatic emergency stop capabilities based on industrial safety standards such as ISO 13849 and IEC 61508

Developing reliability assurance logic that converts sequencing and assembly work order information into robot task instructions and integrates task results with quality systems

Building real-time monitoring and alerting systems based on task status and events

■ Pre-Deployment Integration Validation

Conducting integration testing and validation based on real-world scenarios, including exception situations and communication disruptions

Minimizing deployment risks through pre-validation using virtual data with mocks and simulators

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field, including Electronics, Control Engineering, Information and Communications Engineering, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Software Engineering

Minimum 5 years of experience in developing middleware or platforms for robotic and automation systems, or in communication protocol standardization

Proficiency in English (fluent in both written and oral business communication)

Strong understanding of communication architectures, including socket programming, asynchronous communication, and message queues

Experience communicating with robot hardware and software engineers on robotics engineering fundamentals, including coordinate systems and control cycles

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in an engineering-related field

Native proficiency in English (fluent in both written and oral)

Experience in building and operating robotic or automation systems in industrial environments

Experience in developing agents and automation workflows using LLMs and generative AI

Experience in designing and developing real-time, state-based task allocation and priority adjustment algorithms
