As we continue our journey to becoming a more trauma-informed, values-led and faith-aligned organisation, we are seeking a Manutaki (Manager) who can help bring this vision to life.
About the Role
The Manutaki creates the conditions in which whānau and kaimahi can flourish by leading with integrity, compassion, courage and a commitment to upholding mana.
This role combines leadership, supervision, programme facilitation and service coordination. You will support kaimahi to grow in confidence and capability while ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively and in alignment with Te Whare values and practice frameworks.

- Provide reflective supervision and practice guidance.
- Facilitate programmes and support quality service delivery.
- Promote workforce wellbeing and trauma-informed practice.
- Build strong relationships with whānau, iwi, hapū and community partners.
- Support continuous improvement and service excellence.
- Model kaupapa Māori values and mana-enhancing leadership.
Who We Are Looking For
You will be someone who:
- Leads with humility, integrity and compassion.
- Has experience leading, supervising and developing others.
- Understands trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
- Demonstrates commitment to kaupapa Māori values and culturally responsive practice.
- Builds authentic relationships and works collaboratively with others.
- Is confident facilitating groups and supporting professional growth.
- Is motivated by service and values-based leadership.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Education, Nursing or a related field.
- Minimum five years' experience in the social services, health, justice or community sector.
- A minimum of three years leadership, supervision or team coordination experience.
- Experience facilitating programmes or group-based interventions.
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence.
- Ability to satisfy Police Vetting and other relevant screening requirements.
Why Join Te Whare?
At Te Whare, we believe leadership is about service. We are committed to creating environments where mana is upheld, wellbeing is valued, learning is encouraged, and whānau remain at the centre of everything we do.
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of an organisation dedicated to creating safer, stronger and healthier futures for whānau and communities.
