AM Server — Canal House of Georgetown

Position Summary

The AM Server delivers welcoming, attentive breakfast service and helps guests start their day with a positive dining experience. This role is responsible for preparing the dining area, taking and delivering orders accurately, processing payments, and maintaining a clean, organized environment while meeting hotel service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the restaurant for breakfast service, including setting tables, stocking service stations, preparing coffee, and checking cleanliness and presentation.
• Greet guests promptly, present menus, and explain breakfast offerings, daily specials, and available beverages.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
• Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests to the kitchen and follow established procedures.
• Serve food and beverages promptly, check guest satisfaction, and provide refills and additional assistance throughout the meal.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and other team members to ensure accurate orders and efficient service.
• Understand applicable breakfast packages, vouchers, and guest benefits to ensure accurate billing.
• Present checks, process payments and room charges, and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Address guest concerns professionally and notify a supervisor when additional assistance is needed.
• Clear, clean, sanitize, and reset tables promptly.
• Replenish supplies and maintain clean, organized service stations throughout the shift.
• Complete assigned opening and closing duties, cleaning tasks, and side work.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain a professional appearance and communicate respectfully with guests and coworkers.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, guest-focused approach.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain composed during busy service periods.
• Attention to detail when taking orders, handling payments, and completing assigned duties.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the team.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems preferred; training provided.
• Reliable attendance and availability for early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

The position involves standing and walking for extended periods, carrying trays, lifting and moving service supplies, and performing bending and reaching tasks, with reasonable accommodation as applicable.
