- Monitor fuel inventory and fuel dock operations and ensure required daily safety checks and procedures are completed.
- Maintain an orderly, safe, clean, and welcoming marina environment and monitor weather, tides, and conditions affecting operations.
- Manage opening, closing, and security procedures and assist with storm and seasonal preparation.
Customer Service and Retail
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for slip holders, transient boaters, guests, and visitors and provide a high level of customer service.
- Oversee the marina retail store, including point-of-sale activity, merchandise, inventory, stocking, and store appearance.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer questions, concerns, and service needs.

- Set clear expectations for customer service, safety, cleanliness, and daily work assignments.
- Lead by example and step in to assist with docking, fueling, maintenance, cleaning, and other operational needs when necessary.
Maintenance and Facility Oversight
- Routinely inspect docks, pilings, cleats, utility pedestals, lighting, gates, fuel equipment, buildings, grounds, and safety equipment.
- Identify maintenance and repair needs, perform minor hands-on repairs when appropriate, and coordinate larger work with MacKenzie Services Company and outside contractors.
- Maintain marina tools, equipment, supplies, and preventative maintenance needs to minimize downtime and keep the facility in top condition.
Safety and Emergency Response
- Ensure compliance with marina rules and applicable safety, fuel-handling, and environmental requirements.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies, spills, severe weather, utility failures, and vessel-related incidents and maintain familiarity with emergency procedures and utility shutoffs.
- Document significant incidents and take a proactive approach to protecting customers, employees, vessels, docks, and equipment.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records related to slips, vessels, fuel sales, retail activity, inspections, maintenance, incidents, and work orders.
- Assist with billing, collections, customer communications, vendor coordination, budgeting, reporting, and project follow-up.
- Work with the Senior Property Manager and ownership on marina operations, maintenance priorities, and capital improvement projects.
Qualifications
- Prior marina, dockmaster, boating, marine service, facilities, hospitality, or property operations experience strongly preferred.
- Hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable troubleshooting basic marina, dock, electrical, plumbing, and facility issues.
- Strong leadership, customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
- Boat-handling knowledge and familiarity with docking and securing power and sailboats preferred.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale proficiency; marina management software experience is a plus.
