You will ensure high standards of safety, presentation and customer care, while carrying-out tasks ranging from practical boat maintenance and handling to retail support and grounds upkeep.

Practical maintenance or trade experience and proficiency using hand and power tools are essential, and an interest in the boating industry is desirable. Equally important is a can-do attitude, adaptability and being a team player.

Whixall Marina is part of the Grocott Group. Employing 60 people, the Group has become synonymous with providing stable and secure employment and has built a strong reputation for developing and promoting talent across its portfolio of businesses.

· Performing basic plumbing, joinery and boat painting, including winterisation of fleet, recommissioning and workshop/dry dock organisation.

· Helping to co-ordinate all guest arrivals and departures, ensuring a professional welcome and providing site orientations.

· Performing general maintenance and repairs within the holiday lets, ensuring all facilities remain at a high standard and fit-for-purpose.

· Providing pump-out, fuel, gas and coal services. Supporting chandlery operations, processing sales transactions and assisting with stock management.

· Continually demonstrating a pleasant attitude to all residents and holiday guests, proactively supporting or escalating any concerns or queries to the Marina Manager.

· Maintaining the Marina environment to a high standard, including strimming, hedge trimming, weeding, litter collection and general site housekeeping.

· Providing flexible after-hours call-out cover and holiday cover on a rota basis for the hire fleet and on-site holiday lets, responding to urgent guest requirements or emergency maintenance issues.

· Moving boats safely within the Marina, assisting customers with mooring and maintaining upkeep of pontoons, jetties & walkways.

· Adhering to all health, safety and environmental procedures, including COSHH and risk assessments. Maintaining environmental standards to prevent pollution.

· Supporting the creation and work in line with all working practices as instructed by the Marina Manager.

· Performing any other duties as deemed appropriate to the role and as requested by the Marina Manager.

What are we looking for?

· Strong customer service orientation and good communication skills. Basic IT skills for processing transactions and administration.

· A proactive, flexible team player capable of working on their own initiative and remaining calm under pressure.
