MARINE CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT / PROJECT MANAGER

DECS LLC – Dependable Engineering & Construction Solutions Full-Time | Southeast Florida Salary: $80,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications

About DECS

DECS LLC performs marine and waterfront construction throughout Southeast Florida. Our projects include seawalls, docks, boat lifts, piling, riprap, shoreline stabilization, dredging, marine demolition, and waterfront structural improvements.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent / Project Manager with strong field experience who can coordinate crews and subcontractors, manage schedules, and keep multiple active jobs moving from mobilization through completion.

This is a hands-on, field-based position requiring daily jobsite visits.

Location & Travel

Candidates should be based in Palm Beach County or Martin County, within practical driving distance of our jobsites. Our typical project territory extends from Miami-Dade through Martin County.

The position involves approximately 10% travel, with occasional assignments outside our normal service area, including projects farther along the coast or in the Florida Keys.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily construction operations across multiple jobsites, monitor and report project status, manage project schedules, and coordinate and approve field personnel schedules. Coordinate foremen, crews, subcontractors, vendors, equipment, materials, and deliveries. Plan construction sequencing, maintain schedules, and resolve field issues before they cause delays. Read and interpret engineered plans, specifications, scopes of work, and permit requirements. Coordinate inspections and verify that work complies with approved plans and applicable permit conditions, including environmental protection requirements. Maintain clear communication with company management, engineers, inspectors, and field personnel. Track progress, document issues, and provide timely updates on scheduling, material needs, and decisions requiring management input. Maintain safe, organized jobsites, with particular attention to marine operations and work over water. Oversee punch-list work and project closeout.

Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of relevant construction experience preferred, including experience leading crews or supervising projects. • Marine construction experience strongly preferred, particularly with seawalls, docks, piling, boat lifts, dredging, or waterfront concrete work. • Strong understanding of field operations, construction methods, and sequencing. • Ability to manage multiple projects, anticipate needs, and follow through without constant direction. • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Familiarity with Southeast Florida marine construction, local subcontractors, and suppliers is a plus. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred. Familiarity with Procore, AutoCAD, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, Revit, or similar construction software is also preferred. • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current auto insurance coverage.

Compensation & Work Support

  • Base salary of $80,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. • Company-provided gas card for authorized work-related travel. • Opportunity for project completion and performance bonuses, with terms discussed during the hiring process. Performance considerations include meeting project timelines, managing budgets and profitability, maintaining quality, and demonstrating strong safety performance. • Mileage reimbursement only for approved assignments outside the normal service area. • Company-provided iPad for accessing project plans, software, email, and field documentation.

Experienced marine foremen ready to move into a broader management role are encouraged to apply, as are superintendents and project managers with relevant heavy civil or waterfront construction experience.

We value practical construction knowledge, sound judgment, and accountability. The right person will stay informed about each job, communicate problems early, and make sure crews have what they need to complete the work correctly.
