Marine Technical Superintendent

About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Marine Technical Superintendent to join our dynamic team at PALMER SHIPPING SDN BHD. In this full-time role based in Johor Bahru, Johor, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations and maintenance of our fleet of vessels, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.

What you'll be doing

• Manage and coordinate all technical aspects of the fleet, including scheduling maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on vessels
• Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations and industry standards
• Liaise with external service providers and suppliers to coordinate maintenance and repair activities
• Analyze operational data and identify areas for improvement in vessel performance and efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and support to the ship's crew
• Maintain detailed records and documentation related to the fleet's technical operations
• Collaborate with the broader management team to support the company's strategic objectives

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Marine Technical Superintendent or in a similar senior technical role within the oil and gas or maritime industry
• Thorough understanding of maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices
• Proven track record of managing the maintenance and repair of a diverse fleet of vessels
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both onshore and offshore teams
• Proficient in the use of relevant technical software and data analysis tools
• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field
• Must be willing and available to travel to vessels, ports, and other locations as required.
