Marine Yard Technician

U.S. Boatworks is looking for a hardworking, dependable Marine Yard Technician to join our team. This is an entry-level, hands-on position with the opportunity to learn new skills and grow into a more advanced role within our service department.

The Marine Yard Technician will assist with a variety of day-to-day operations, including boat and equipment handling, sanding and surface preparation, basic maintenance and repairs, and general shop and yard responsibilities. This is not a desk job—you should be comfortable getting dirty, working with your hands, and jumping in wherever help is needed.

What You'll Do

• Sand, prep, and assist with transmission repair
• Safely operate a forklift and move boats, equipment, and materials
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs, including oil changes, impeller replacements, and other routine service work
• Assist mechanics and technicians with larger repairs and projects
• Keep the shop, yard, and work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Take ownership of assigned tasks and work effectively with minimal supervision

What We're Looking For

• Mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn
• Comfortable working in a hands-on environment and getting dirty
• Able to work independently and follow directions with minimal supervision
• Reliable, hardworking, and willing to take initiative
• Vocational or technical school experience is preferred, especially in automotive, marine, diesel, or mechanical fields
• Forklift experience is a plus, but training may be provided
