Market Assistant

Overview

Join our team as a Market Assistant and become a vital contributor to our growing small business! In this role, you will help run our weekly markets across Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, interact with customers and and ring up sales on a Shopify app. Your enthusiasm and proactive approach will help create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and inspired to explore our handmade products. This temporary position has the potential to turn into a longer-term assignment.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their booth experience
• Physical ability to set up and tear down booth (including a canopy tent), entirely by yourself; be able to load and unload; be able to create a beautiful booth display; ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Educate customers on features and benefits of various product items
• Ring up sales on the Shopify app
• Passion for handmade and/or helping support a small business

Skills

• Previous retail sales or market experience is preferred but not required; enthusiasm is key!
• Good communication skills with the ability to engage customers in a friendly manner
• Some proficiency in POS (Point of Sale) systems preferred
• Basic math skills for managing transaction
• Strong organizational skills
• Keen ability to follow directions

About Chic & Gold: Chic & Gold is a very small business based online. Founder Munira Syeda also participates in 50 markets a year. We are now looking to expand our footprint across Dallas Fort Worth. Our products - hair accessories and scarves - are handmade by Pakistani artisans and sewn by local refugee and immigrant women.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week
