Market Data Engineering Manager

About the Role

We are working with a leading global hedge fund looking for an experienced Market Data Engineering Manager to join its Data Technology team and lead the development of enterprise market data platforms.

This is a technical leadership position , with responsibility for managing and mentoring engineers, setting technical direction, and helping architect next-generation market data capabilities. The platform supports real-time and historical data across Equities, Macro, Commodities and Credit.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and analysts.
• Drive the architecture and development of next-generation market data platforms.
• Oversee the ingestion and distribution of real-time and historical market data.
• Define the technical roadmap and work closely with investment and trading teams.
• Ensure platforms meet high standards for performance, resilience, availability and recoverability.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of experience leading engineering teams.
• 5+ years of experience building or operating market data systems.
• Strong understanding of real-time and historical market data platforms .
• Experience with low-latency development patterns in C++ .
• Experience supporting investment research and/or trade execution across multiple asset classes.
• Experience with Bloomberg and Refinitiv/LSEG market data APIs is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of Agile software development and delivery of resilient production systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

This role would suit someone who combines deep market data expertise with strong engineering leadership , and who is comfortable setting technical direction while leading the teams responsible for delivery.
