Market Making & Commercial Strategy

- Develop and approve competitive pricing and customer-specific pricing exceptions to support revenue growth, maximize margin on available capacity, and protect existing business.
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial performance through better market positioning, pricing, routing, and supplier relationships.
Bilateral Deals & Swaps
- Review and approve bilateral deals and traffic swaps proposed by Sales.
- Assess whether proposed deals support the relevant country strategy and provide a market-competitive cost base.
- Evaluate the commercial impact, risks, and expected profitability of proposed deals.
- Monitor deal performance and profitability and take corrective action where required.
Cost Base & Supplier Management
- Continuously challenge and improve the market competitiveness of the cost base.
- Work closely with Sales, Deals, and Routing teams to identify cost optimization opportunities.
- Partner with Routing to determine vendor selection, traffic volumes, capacity requirements, and cost objectives.
- Use market intelligence and performance data to support supplier and routing decisions.
Margin Assurance
- Monitor market movements and identify margin risks, cost increases, and commercial alerts.
- Ensure timely analysis and action to protect and improve margins.
- Review and approve product customizations, routing exceptions, special deals, and pricing blends outside standard product configurations.
- Balance commercial opportunities with profitability, risk, and long-term customer value.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn data into decisions.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance risk, revenue, and margin.
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proactive and independent approach with a “make it happen” mindset.
- Ability to understand technical and commercial concepts quickly.
