Market Risk Business Analyst

Location: Jersey City, NJ

Duration: 18-Month Contract

Level: Mid-Senior Level

Position Overview

We are looking for a Market Risk Business Analyst to support ongoing initiatives within the Market Risk organization. The ideal candidate will have strong Technology Business Analyst experience , Market Risk knowledge, and experience with investment reporting, VaR, SQL, and Excel .

Responsibilities

• Gather, document, and analyze business and technical requirements.
• Support ongoing Market Risk and investment reporting initiatives.
• Work with Market Risk stakeholders to understand business needs and reporting requirements.
• Analyze Market Risk data, including VaR, risk limits, interest rates, and related risk metrics .
• Write and analyze SQL queries , including joins, tables, and data validation.
• Perform data analysis and reconciliation using SQL and Excel.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical requirements.
• Work with technology teams to support system and reporting enhancements.
• Assist with testing, data validation, and issue resolution.
• Create and maintain requirements, process documentation, and test cases.
• Communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Mid-to-senior level Business Analyst / Technology Business Analyst experience.
• Strong Market Risk knowledge , including:
• Market Risk limits
• Interest rates
• Value at Risk ( VaR )
• General Market Risk terminology
• Investment reporting experience.
• Strong SQL skills, including queries, joins, tables, and data analysis.
• Excellent Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working with business and technology teams in a financial services environment.
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical requirements.
