Casa Mia is an established family-run Italian bakery based in Leeds, bringing authentic, handcrafted Italian cakes, cannoli, and award-winning gluten-free delicacies to major food festivals, farmers' markets, and artisan events across Yorkshire and Northern England.
Summary of the Role
We are looking for vibrant, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Market Stall Assistants to join our event team.
This role involves driving to market locations, setting up our gazebos and displays, and enthusiastically selling our artisan products to the public. Shifts typically run from early morning (5am-7am start) to afternoon (with ending times varying depending on location). You will work independently on site most of the time (with support during loading/unloading and major peak events).

Key Responsibilities
- Customer Sales & Engagement: Provide warm, proactive customer service and sell Casa Mia’s authentic Italian treats with high energy.
- Stall Setup & Logistics: Load/unload bakery stock, set up 3x3m commercial gazebos, tables, and display refrigeration.
- Outdoor Market Operations: Work comfortably in vibrant, fast-paced outdoor market settings across various locations (e.g., Harrogate, Chatsworth, York, coastal events, and regional food festivals) and in all weather conditions.
- Cash & Card Processing: Manage till transactions efficiently and accurately.
What We Are Looking For
- Driving Licence: A valid UK driving licence is essential (owning a vehicle to reach our Leeds unit or drive to markets independently is preferred).
- Customer Service Spirit: Experience in sales, retail, or hospitality with an approachable demeanor.
- Outdoor Resilience: Comfortable working outdoors in varying UK weather conditions and handling physical tasks (lifting equipment/boxes).
- Flexible Availability: Available on weekends (shifts typically start early morning and finish late afternoon).
- Christmas Commitment: Full availability across November and December peak trading dates.
What We Offer (Perks & Benefits)
- Competitive Pay & Daily Sales Bonuses: Base rate + lucrative daily sales incentives (earn extra on top of your hourly rate when stall targets are achieved!).
- Flexible Working Options: Choose between flexible casual shifts, seasonal Christmas work, or a permanent long-term role.
- Free Cakes & Staff Perks: Generous employee discounts and complimentary bakery treats on working days!
- Paid Training & Development: Full training provided on product knowledge, food safety, merchandising, and commercial setup.
- Travel & Work Environment: Great opportunities to visit premier festival venues across Yorkshire and Northern England in a fun, supportive team environment.
- Free parking at our Leeds unit.
