What they need
Middlesbrough | Marketing Assistant | Full-time
You notice why a particular campaign catches attention while another gets completely ignored. You probably find yourself analyzing brand messaging, double-checking the formatting on a document before sending it out, or keeping up with local commercial trends just out of natural curiosity.
If you are organized, enjoy clear creative problem-solving, and want a practical entry point into commercial marketing, this role in Middlesbrough is built for you. We are growing our local team and need a focused Marketing Assistant to help coordinate our regional campaigns and keep our marketing activities running on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll focus on candidate and customer touchpoints, brand consistency, and campaign execution. Daily responsibilities include:
- Assisting in the coordination and delivery of local marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Gathering market research and keeping an eye on competitor activities across the region.
- Drafting simple, accurate copy for promotional materials, newsletters, and digital communications.
- Coordinating with print suppliers and external vendors to ensure materials arrive on time.
- Tracking key performance metrics across active campaigns and updating weekly reporting dashboards.
- Organizing visual assets, photography, and brand materials in our central database.
- Supporting the planning and coordination of local marketing events and regional briefings.
- Collaborating with the broader operations team to align promotional activity with business priorities.
Profile and Skills
We value attention to detail, clear written communication, and a practical mindset over years of corporate experience. We are looking for:
- Strong written English skills with a sharp eye for spelling, grammar, and formatting.
- High organizational skills and the ability to manage deadlines without losing track of details.
- Curiosity about consumer behavior, local market trends, and brand positioning.
- A proactive approach to learning new software tools, analytics platforms, and design tools.
- Confidence communicating with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Previous experience in administration, customer service, retail, university projects, or social media management is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.
Development and Support
You won't be expected to manage entire campaigns on day one. We take a hands-on approach to training, starting with guided tasks alongside experienced colleagues.
You will learn how to structure end-to-end campaigns, analyze campaign performance data, and produce clear marketing collateral. Through regular one-to-one coaching and constructive feedback, you will steadily gain confidence. Over time, you’ll take ownership of specific channels, assist with campaign planning, and take on greater responsibility across our local projects.
What We Offer
- Competitive base salary
- Full initial training in campaign management and brand guidelines
- Regular one-to-one coaching and practical skill development
- Hands-on experience across multiple marketing functions
- Recognition for consistent quality and attention to detail
- Team social events and group activities
- Opportunities to take on larger projects as your skillset expands
