What they need
Location: Manchester
Role: Marketing Assistant (Full-time)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
You are the person who pays attention to why certain adverts stay in your head while others pass completely unnoticed. Whether you're analyzing how local pop-ups catch footfall on the high street, picking up on small inconsistencies in brand formatting, or wondering what messaging actually gets people to respond, you naturally view promotional work through a curious, detail-focused lens.
If you are looking for a grounded, practical way to start a career in campaign coordination, audience research, and brand activity across Manchester, this full-time role provides a structured entry point. We are expanding our regional marketing team and need an organized, analytical Marketing Assistant to support our day-to-day promotional campaigns, content performance tracking, and event activations.
Core Marketing Duties
Working closely alongside our senior campaign leads, your daily tasks will involve hands-on coordination across all stages of regional campaign delivery:
- Assisting with the preparation, auditing, and distribution of promotional materials and event signage.
- Conducting on-site audience research and collecting participant feedback during live brand activations.
- Tracking daily response rates, logging engagement data, and keeping performance spreadsheets up to date.
- Coordinating gear transport and event setup schedules for local brand awareness pop-ups across Greater Manchester.
- Proofreading promotional copy, social content, and print assets for tone, layout, and brand accuracy.
- Gathering competitive intelligence on regional market activity, local consumer trends, and venue footfall.
- Maintaining our digital asset library, photo archives, and historical campaign records.
- Liaising with internal events and site operations teams to keep campaign rollouts running to schedule.
Candidate Traits & Qualities
We value clear thinking, written accuracy, and strong organizational habits far more than a long portfolio of prior campaign work. We look for:
- Sharp written English with a careful eye for grammar, formatting, and clear messaging.
- A structured approach to managing project timelines, file systems, and research spreadsheets.
- Basic numerical literacy and confidence using spreadsheets to log and analyze performance data.
- Courteous, professional communication skills when speaking with venue leads, suppliers, and the public.
- An observant nature with a genuine interest in how real consumers interact with regional brand activity.
- Previous experience in marketing support, administration, customer service, retail, university projects, or copywriting is a plus, but not essential as full training is provided.
Practical Development & Mentorship
We make sure you receive step-by-step guidance so you can build genuine campaign coordination skills with total confidence.
Your onboarding involves working side-by-side with experienced marketing coordinators, learning our research methods, tracking platforms, and brand guidelines. Through regular one-to-one coaching sessions, you will review recent campaign metrics and receive constructive feedback on your research and copy work. As your understanding of target audiences deepens, you will take ownership of specific marketing channels, lead local research projects, and progress toward full campaign management.
Included Benefits
- Competitive base salary
- Enhanced pay rates for weekend campaign shifts
- Performance-based bonuses linked to campaign engagement targets
- Full initial training covering market research tools, copy review, and campaign operations
- Regular one-to-one coaching and continuous skill progression
- Practical experience working across live Manchester brand activations and promotional campaigns
