What they need
Marketing Associate – Maternity Cover (6 months)*
Amsterdam (in-person / hybrid) | 4 days per week (32 hours)
About the role
UIIN is looking for a hands-on Marketing Associate to support the day-to-day execution of our marketing, communications, and event activities. This role is ideal for someone with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience who enjoys turning plans into well-executed activities across digital channels and events.
You will help deliver UIIN’s ongoing marketing and communications activities, including social media management, email marketing, website updates, content publishing, and event promotion. You will also support marketing activities around our international events, helping us strengthen their visibility, engagement, and impact.
This is a role for someone who is accurate, organised, reliable, and comfortable working across recurring marketing tasks, campaigns, and event-related activities.
*While this is initially a six-month maternity cover position, we are looking for someone who could potentially grow with UIIN over the longer term as our team and activities expand.
Who we are
UIIN supports a global community of universities, industry, and innovation leaders working to strengthen collaboration for societal and economic impact. Through international events, training courses, research, and community engagement, we connect professionals shaping the future of higher education worldwide.
What you will do
In this role, you will:
Day-to-day marketing
- Support the delivery of UIIN’s ongoing marketing and communications activities across channels such as LinkedIn, email, and the website
- Support the rollout of campaigns, content, and audience communications for events, training, insights, and other organisational activities
- Help ensure consistency in UIIN’s branding, tone, and visibility across channels
Content publishing and digital coordination
- Prepare, schedule, publish, and update content across digital platforms, including WordPress-based websites
- Coordinate with colleagues on communications timelines, priorities, and publishing needs
Event marketing and community engagement
- Support marketing and email campaigns for UIIN’s international events, including communications with prospective and registered participants
- Collaborate with colleagues on event branding, promotional content, and communications materials
- Contribute ideas on how to better leverage events as marketing opportunities, strengthening audience engagement and visibility before, during, and after events
- Support community engagement activities to nurture our member network through UIIN’s member community platform
What you will bring
- Around 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in marketing, communications, event marketing, digital content, or a similar role
- Experience with day-to-day marketing implementation across channels such as LinkedIn, email marketing, and websites
- Experience supporting marketing campaigns for events, webinars, or other audience-facing activities
- Familiarity with digital tools such as email marketing platforms and automations, social media scheduling tools, and CMS platforms (e.g. WordPress)
- Strong writing and editing skills in English
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple ongoing tasks with care and consistency
- Confidence working in a small, fast-moving team environment with a proactive, experimental approach to marketing
About you
You would likely be a strong fit if you are someone who:
- Can move between strategic thinking and practical execution
- Writes clearly, convincingly, and with substance
- Brings structure and ownership to their work
- Enjoys collaborating across teams rather than working in a silo
- Sees events not only as activities to promote, but also as opportunities to strengthen relationships, engagement, and brand visibility
- Is motivated by meaningful work in the higher education and innovation space
What we will provide
- A varied and meaningful role at the intersection of research, consulting, and innovation
- The opportunity to work across organisational marketing and international project communication
- A collaborative team environment with room to learn and grow
- Close collaboration with colleagues across marketing, business development, events, training, and research
- A 4-day working week (32 hours), with hybrid flexibility
- Salary: €3,400–€4,200 gross per month, depending on experience and seniority
- A professional development budget
- A supportive and flexible working culture
