About the role

PT Bintang Tujuh Sembilan is seeking an experienced Marketing professional in the field of commodity trading/marketing, particularly coal, Palm Kernel Shell (PKS/cangkang sawit), and activated carbon.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new buyers/customers, both domestic and international
• Develop and maintain relationships with buyers, suppliers, traders, distributors, and related parties
• Conduct marketing and sales of coal, palm kernel shell, and activated carbon products
• Negotiate price, specifications, volume, payment terms, and transaction terms with buyers
• Understand buyer needs and product specifications
• Follow up on offers, quotations, POs, contracts, and transaction processes
• Conduct market price research, demand analysis, competitor analysis, and monitor commodity trading developments
• Coordinate with suppliers, operational teams, logistics, and related parties to ensure smooth transactions
• Prepare marketing activity reports, buyer pipeline reports, and transaction progress updates

About you

• Minimum S1 education from a relevant field
• Minimum 2–3 years of work experience in commodity marketing/trading, particularly coal, PKS/palm kernel shell, activated carbon, or similar commodities
• Understanding of commodity trading processes and business negotiation
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships
• Ability to work towards targets and identify new business opportunities
• Active English language skills, particularly for business communication
• Willing to undertake business travel as required
• Preferred: Experience as a Commodity Trader/Marketing/Sales in coal, PKS, or activated carbon
• Preferred: Experience handling both local and export buyers with active buyer/supplier relationships and proven transaction records or sales achievements
