What they need
At Apex Valves, part of the global Watts Water family, we design and manufacture high-quality, innovative solutions that support the safe flow, control and conservation of water across residential, commercial, industrial and agricultural applications. Proudly NZ made with local manufacturing in Auckland, we combine precision engineering with a strong commitment to quality, sustainability and continuous improvement. Our solutions sit at critical control points in water systems, helping water flow safely, efficiently and reliably wherever it’s needed, while protecting people, infrastructure and the environment.
Our people are at the heart of our success - we offer a supportive, hands-on environment where individuals can build meaningful careers, backed by benefits including Southern Cross health insurance and company-wide short-term incentive programmes. We foster a positive and inclusive team culture, with regular events to support strong communication and connection, such as quarterly town halls, employee celebrations and social activities. Guided by ESG principles, including sustainable practices like rainwater harvesting at our site, we are building a responsible and future-focused manufacturing business. Through Watts Cares initiatives, community engagement, and recognition of important social impact days, we give back and support the communities we operate in. At Apex Valves, you can take pride in your work, contribute to something meaningful, and grow with us.
About the role
We're looking for a proactive and organised Marketing Coordinator to join our team based at our manufacturing plant in Avondale, where you will gain exposure to the full marketing mix and work closely with cross functional teams including Sales, Operations, R&D and Leadership. Reporting to the Head of Sales and working alongside the Senior Marketing Executive, you'll play an important role in supporting the delivery of Apex's marketing strategy and day-to-day marketing activities. This is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging marketing professional who enjoys variety, loves bringing projects together, and wants to build broad marketing experience across communications, campaigns, events, content creation, customer engagement and brand support.
You'll be involved in:
- Coordinating marketing campaigns and promotional activities
- Creating customer and internal communications
- Supporting social media and website content
- Preparing newsletters, articles, case studies and marketing collateral
- Assisting with product launches and customer engagement initiatives
- Coordinating trade shows, customer events, roadshows and factory tours
- Managing marketing administration, records, suppliers and budgets
- Supporting CRM data management, reporting and campaign analysis
- Working with sales teams to provide marketing and product support
- Exploring new tools and technologies that improve marketing effectiveness
This is a hands-on role where you'll see your work make a real impact across the business.
About you:
You're someone who enjoys making things happen. You take pride in being organised, can switch comfortably between creative and administrative tasks, and enjoy working with a wide range of people. You may not know everything yet, but you're curious, motivated and excited to build a well-rounded marketing career.
While manufacturing experience is not essential, you'll have the opportunity to tell compelling stories about product innovation, sustainability, customer success and NZ-made manufacturing excellence. Experience with social media, websites, CRM systems, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or marketing platforms would be beneficial, but we're equally interested in someone with strong coordination and communication skills who is keen to continue developing their marketing career.
Ideally you'll bring:
- 2+ years' experience in a marketing, communications or coordinator role
- A qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience coordinating projects, events, campaigns or communications
- Confidence creating content across a variety of channels
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong relationship-building skills and a customer-focused mindset
We offer:
- Competitive total compensation package including a short term incentive
- Southern Cross Health Insurance (Wellbeing One plan with Keeping Well module) fully paid for you, and discounts for immediate family
- Employee Assistance Programme with Telus Health
- Company funded Flu Vaccinations (optional)
- Fun Company events
- On site covered parking
You'll be joining:
- A global organisation with strong local roots
- A growing New Zealand manufacturing business
- A collaborative and supportive team
- A company committed to innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement
If you're looking for a role where you can build broad marketing experience, contribute ideas and make a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Please submit your application, including your CV and a personally written cover letter that helps us get to know you.
