What they need
Ronald McDonald House North Australia | Townsville
Full-time | Townsville House
Help tell the stories that matter.
Families travelling across North Australia for their child's healthcare need more than medical treatment. They need practical support, connection and a place to stay together.
At Ronald McDonald House North Australia, we provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.
We're looking for a Marketing Coordinator to bring our fundraising and awareness campaigns to life.
This is a hands-on role for a marketer who can take a strategy and turn it into great campaigns - from partnering in concept and content, through to launch, optimisation and reporting.
About the role
Reporting to the Head of Revenue & Engagement, you will be the primary driver of the development and implementation of Ronald McDonald House North Australia's fundraising and awareness campaigns.
Working from the agreed fundraising, marketing and communications strategy, you'll take campaigns from concept through to delivery - coordinating content, channels, creative, timelines, approvals and reporting to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively and achieve their objectives.
You'll work closely with fundraising and programs teams, partners and external suppliers to bring campaigns and content to life and ensure our communications connect with the right audiences at the right time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead the development and day-to-day delivery of fundraising and awareness campaigns, translating strategic briefs set by the Head of Revenue & Engagement into clear campaign plans and activity.
- Managing and optimising digital marketing activity across Google, social, website and email
- Supporting integrated fundraising, appeals, events, peer-to-peer and community fundraising campaigns
- Maintaining website content, with a focus on accuracy, accessibility, user experience and SEO
- Developing content that takes supporters from awareness through to engagement, conversion and retention
- Coordinating our content and campaign calendar, workflows, approvals and publishing
- Working with teams across our regions and programs to identify and develop meaningful family, program and community stories
- Supporting partnership content and recognition requirements
- Monitoring campaign, website, email and audience performance and using insights to improve results
- Maintaining brand consistency and ensuring content meets privacy, consent and child-safe requirements.
- Act as key contact for digital/campaign agency partners throughout the campaign lifecycle.
This is a role where good storytelling and good data go hand in hand. You'll have the opportunity to create content that connects emotionally while also understanding how it performs and contributes to our fundraising and engagement goals.
Whilst this role is currently being offered as a fixed-term 6-month contract, there is high probability of ongoing work following the contract term.
About you
We're looking for someone who is creative, organised and commercially minded, with the ability to manage campaigns from idea to execution.
You'll ideally bring:
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising-oriented marketing, communications, digital marketing or a similar role
- Strong written content and storytelling skills
- Experience creating content for social media, websites and email
- An understanding of digital marketing in fundraising and how different channels work together
- Experience supporting campaigns from planning through to delivery and reporting
- An ability to use data and performance insights to improve content and campaigns
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Confidence working collaboratively with a range of internal teams, partners and external suppliers
- A genuine interest in understanding audiences and creating communications that encourage engagement and action
- Sound judgement when working with sensitive stories and personal information.
Experience with WordPress, Funraisin, Campaign Monitor and/or Mailchimp would be highly regarded, as would experience in the not-for-profit sector. Qualifications in digital marketing, communications, marketing or web design are desirable.
Most importantly, you'll be curious, practical, and willing to get things done. You won't wait for someone else to identify the next step- you'll see an opportunity, bring an idea forward and your plan to make it happen.
Why work with us?
You'll join a purpose-driven team working across North Australia to support families - helping them stay together whilst their child is in hospital.
Your work will have a direct connection to the families and communities we support. You'll see the impact of the campaigns you help deliver and the stories you help share daily.
You'll also be joining an organisation that values collaboration, continuous improvement and doing meaningful work well.
What you'll bring to the team
Puts families first
You understand that the people behind our stories are real families, and you approach their experiences with care, respect and sensitivity.
Gets things done
You can manage competing deadlines, keep campaigns moving and deliver quality work without needing to be chased.
Thinks creatively
You enjoy finding fresh ways to tell stories, engage audiences and bring campaigns to life.
Uses evidence
You don't just create content-you look at what happened, understand why and use those insights to improve what comes next.
Works well with others
You'll collaborate with fundraising, programs, regional teams, partners and suppliers to get the best result.
Is always learning
Digital marketing changes quickly. You enjoy learning, testing new approaches and staying across emerging trends and best practice.
