What they need

About us
Urban Baristas is an Australian-inspired specialty coffee brand, bringing the neighbourhood together with coffee and a smile. Since our first kiosk opened in Bounds Green in 2016, we've grown to over 20 sites across London and beyond. Since we started franchising in 2024, more than 50 territories have been sold. We're known for great coffee, a vibrant brunch culture and strong local communities, from Bondi to Bounds Green.

The role
We're looking for a creative, organised and hands-on Marketing Coordinator to keep marketing running smoothly across our equity and franchise cafés. It's a varied role covering design, email, events, store openings, franchise support, digital screens and our Shopify site.

You'll work closely with our Social Media Coordinator, Operations Director, Franchise team, Head of Food, Head of Coffee, store teams and external partners. Your job is to keep the Urban Baristas brand consistent everywhere, and to make sure marketing is planned ahead rather than done last minute.

What you'll do

Marketing calendar & campaigns

  • Maintain the annual marketing calendar and plan quarterly seasonal campaigns, launches and promotions
  • Coordinate activity around menu launches, new products, store openings and key trading periods
  • Handle ad hoc marketing and design requests from stores and franchisees within agreed timelines
  • Keep marketing and social media activity aligned with the Social Media Coordinator

Design & creative

  • Design in-store and digital materials in Adobe Creative Suite, including posters, flyers, menus, A-boards, labels and screen content
  • Design labels and packaging for new coffees, hot chocolate and retail launches
  • Coordinate drinks and coffee bag imagery through Buzzcube
  • Manage print production and top-up orders with printers
  • Review in-store materials regularly and arrange refreshes when they're tired or out of date

Email marketing & guest data

  • Plan, design and build Klaviyo campaigns, mixing product, sales, event and brand-led newsletters
  • Build and maintain email automations
  • Support stores and franchisees with Social WiFi email marketing
  • Review Klaviyo and Social WiFi performance and guest data, and spot ways to lift engagement and conversion

Events, community & partnerships

  • Plan and run the monthly events calendar, including Run Clubs, Coffee Raves, DJ sessions and local activations
  • Find Run Club locations and partners, and coordinate with Run Club Leaders and stores
  • Brief store teams before every event
  • Coordinate partners, DJs and influencer invites for Coffee Raves
  • Build partnerships with local gyms, Pilates studios, offices and community groups for cross-promotions and community discounts, and keep those conversations moving

Store openings & franchise support

  • Support franchisees with opening marketing plans, materials and local launch activity
  • Check in regularly with franchisees on local marketing and brand consistency
  • Update visuals and flyers for individual franchise locations
  • Set up digital screens and content for new openings

Digital screens

  • Manage, upload and schedule content across all sites in My Signage Portal
  • Keep screens current and remove outdated campaigns

Website & Shopify

  • Keep the Shopify site up to date, including new stores, new products, pricing and discontinued lines
  • Help guests with online orders and subscriptions, including cancellations and refunds where appropriate

Masterclasses

  • Handle Masterclass enquiries, bookings and changes
  • Coordinate bookings with the Head of Coffee
  • Help promote Masterclasses to grow bookings

Content & shoots

  • Plan store visits and shoot days with the Social Media Coordinator
  • Attend and assist with seasonal campaign and product shoots

Franchise shows

  • Support the Franchise Director at exhibitions including Olympia, ExCeL and Birmingham NEC
  • Design and prepare exhibition assets and help organise each show

About you

  • Experience in a marketing, brand or creative marketing role
  • Strong graphic design skills and confidence in Adobe Creative Suite, for both print and digital
  • Experience with an email platform (Klaviyo a plus) and Shopify or another e-commerce platform
  • Highly organised, able to juggle several projects and deadlines at once
  • Excellent written communication and a sharp eye for detail and brand consistency
  • Proactive, and happy to take ownership of projects
  • A genuine interest in coffee, hospitality, food, lifestyle and community-led brands
  • Bonus points for Social WiFi or digital signage/CMS experience

What success looks like

  • Campaigns and seasonal launches land on time and look consistent across every site
  • New stores get well-organised marketing support before opening
  • Franchisees get responsive, practical local marketing help
  • Email and guest data activity makes a real contribution to engagement and sales
  • Run Clubs and Coffee Raves run consistently and build local communities around our stores
  • Local partnerships bring measurable awareness and footfall
  • Materials, website and screens stay current and commercially relevant
  • Marketing is planned ahead, not reactive

Perks

  • Free coffee (yes, unlimited flatties) while you work
  • Free lunch every day at our café while you're at work
  • An extra day of holiday for every year you're with us
  • Company pension: a pension scheme to help you plan for your future
  • Home Barista Training: learn to make café-quality coffee at home
