The Opportunity

MacGregor Black is partnering with a privately owned health and wellness business developing an innovative, research-led solution within the pain relief and recovery category.

The business combines advanced technology and scientific research with a clear human purpose: to develop solutions that support people's quality of life, movement and recovery.

The successful candidate will play a key role in translating the founder's vision and the brand's existing identity into a compelling consumer proposition that resonates across these premium environments.

The Role

The Marketing Director will lead the development and execution of the company's marketing strategy, translating a sophisticated scientific proposition into a clear, credible and compelling brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the overall marketing and brand strategy.
• Establish clear positioning, proposition and messaging.
• Lead go-to-market and launch strategy.
• Translate scientific and technical propositions into accessible consumer communications.
• Develop integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social, PR, media, experiential and partnerships.
• Build brand awareness, understanding, trust and advocacy.
• Develop relationships with relevant scientific, medical, wellness and professional communities.
• Identify appropriate expert, practitioner and partnership opportunities.
• Lead agency and external partner relationships.
• Build the marketing team and capability as the business develops.
• Establish appropriate marketing KPIs, budgets and performance reporting.
• Work closely with Sales, Product and senior leadership.
• Protect the integrity, credibility and consistency of the brand as the business scales.

Candidate Profile

• Senior marketing leadership experience within health, wellness, consumer healthcare, beauty, fitness, recovery, science-led consumer products or an adjacent category.
• A proven track record of building or launching brands.
• Strong brand strategy and consumer marketing capability.
• Experience translating complex propositions into compelling communications.
• Strong digital, social, PR and integrated campaign experience.
• Commercial understanding and strong analytical capability.
• Experience working with agencies and building teams.
• The credibility and maturity to operate alongside scientific, technical and commercial stakeholders.
• An entrepreneurial approach and a genuine desire to build.
