What they need

Bring campaigns, events and product stories to life

Lusty & Blundell is looking for a proactive, creative and commercially minded Marketing Executive to help deliver marketing activity across our brands, products and customer channels.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys taking ownership and turning plans into action. You will work across digital marketing, HubSpot CRM, content, events, advertising, product launches and customer communications, while supporting the wider sales and product teams.

You will be comfortable managing multiple projects under pressure, working to deadlines and measuring the commercial impact of your activity. You enjoy the opportunity to have input into strategy that propels overall business objects and consider yourself an “ideas person”.

About Lusty & Blundell

Lusty & Blundell is proudly celebrating its 50th year as a market leader, distributing high-quality marine and non-marine products throughout New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

Our extensive portfolio includes marine electronics, fluid-handling equipment, pumps, clean-energy systems and charging solutions. We import products from first-class global manufacturers and supply an established network of trade and retail customers.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a trusted, long-standing business that combines technical expertise, quality products and strong industry relationships with an ongoing focus on innovation and growth.

About the role

As Marketing Executive, you will help manage the end-to-end delivery of our marketing programme.

Digital marketing and CRM

  • Manage marketing activity through HubSpot, including campaign setup, customer segmentation, workflows, forms, email marketing and reporting.
  • Develop and deliver regular customer communications, e-newsletters and technical updates.
  • Support the sales team with HubSpot training, adoption and best-practice processes.
  • Create professional digital assets, presentations, social media graphics, advertisements and sales materials using Canva.
  • Create and coordinate engaging video, social media and digital content.
  • Monitor social media performance, advertising spend and campaign return on investment.
  • Develop, track and report on SEO, SEM, AEO and Google/Meta Ads activity.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of our website and customer portal, including content accuracy, user experience and administration.
  • Identify opportunities to improve how digital channels support the wider marketing and sales strategy.

Events and activations

  • Plan and deliver a full calendar of internal and external events.
  • Take ownership of events from initial planning through to setup, delivery and post-event follow-up. Travel will be required to attend events.
  • Manage event campaigns, registrations and follow-up communications through HubSpot.
  • Develop supporting social media, email and advertising campaigns.
  • Coordinate post-event content, including video reels, customer follow-ups and social media posts.
  • Coordinate the use of our marketing caravan/other assets for activations, demonstrations and content generation.

Product marketing and sales support

  • Coordinate product launches and supporting marketing campaigns.
  • Develop digital sales toolkits, product assets and customer-facing resources.
  • Undertake market and competitor research, including SWOT analysis.
  • Help maintain a digital asset management library for internal teams and customers.
  • Support customer proposals, price lists, incentive programmes and marketing co-op activity.

Advertising, PR and communications

  • Maintain and deliver the annual advertising schedule.
  • Manage the communications pipeline across PR, digital advertising, traditional media, website, social media, internal communications and customer communications.
  • Coordinate and create advertising assets to meet publication deadlines.
  • Run PR planning meetings, circulate actions and coordinate activity with product managers, contractors and media partners.
  • Create content such as e-newsletters, editorials, campaign copy and product communications.
  • Coordinate ambassador relationships, product reviews, boat-build activity and supporting promotional content.

Brand and marketing operations

  • Maintain marketing merchandise, uniforms and business card requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage marketing stock, displays and physical assets.
  • Monitor marketing storage locations and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Help ensure product and category information is accurate and easy for customers to understand.
  • Support customer onboarding and ongoing improvements to marketing processes.
  • Assist with other marketing activities required to support business goals and programme delivery.

About you

You will be an organised, confident and adaptable marketer who enjoys working across both creative and operational activity.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven hands-on experience using HubSpot for CRM management, email marketing, customer segmentation, workflows, forms, campaigns and reporting.
  • Strong experience using Canva to create professional, brand-consistent marketing materials across digital and print channels.
  • Previous experience in a Marketing Executive, Marketing Coordinator or similar hands-on role.
  • Strong digital marketing knowledge across email, websites, social media, SEO, SEM, AEO and paid advertising.
  • Experience coordinating campaigns, events and product launches.

  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to take ownership.
  • Confidence using data and reporting to evaluate marketing performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to keeping records, content and marketing assets accurate.
  • Experience creating or coordinating video and digital content.

Experience in the marine, electrical, automotive, RV, clean-energy, trade or technical product sectors would be beneficial but is not essential.

Why join Lusty & Blundell?
