Marketing I – Business Development

Position Summary

James Engineering is seeking a motivated, personable individual to join our team in an entry-level marketing and business development position. This role focuses on identifying potential customers, developing and maintaining customer contact databases, communicating with existing and prospective customers, distributing marketing materials, and evaluating marketing effectiveness.

The position provides hands-on training in the fundamentals of industrial marketing, with opportunities for advancement based on demonstrated skills, initiative, and performance.

Primary Responsibilities

• Research and identify manufacturers and potential customers that may benefit from James Engineering's products and services.
• Develop, verify, organize, and maintain customer and prospect contact databases using ZoomInfo, AI-assisted research, Google, and other resources.
• Contact existing, former, and prospective customers to maintain relationships, identify needs, and develop sales opportunities for management.
• Coordinate and distribute marketing materials, product announcements, and press releases to customers and industry publications, targeting multiple releases when available and a minimum of one per week submitted to four relevant publications.
• Work with marketing personnel to ensure promotional materials reach appropriate audiences.
• Monitor marketing performance using Constant Contact, Google Analytics, ZoomInfo, and other reporting tools.
• Evaluate customer engagement and campaign results to improve contact lists, audience targeting, and marketing effectiveness.
• Maintain accurate activity records and provide brief, regular reports on marketing efforts and potential sales opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including a professional and personable telephone manner.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and internet research.
• Willingness to make outbound calls, learn technical products, and communicate with manufacturing professionals.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and willing to learn new skills and accept increasing responsibility.
• Previous marketing, customer service, or sales experience is beneficial but not required.
• No college degree or prior industrial marketing experience required.

Training & Advancement

James Engineering believes effective marketing begins with understanding customer needs, identifying the appropriate audience, delivering relevant information, and measuring the results.

Employees will receive hands-on training in this process, with opportunities to advance into Marketing II, Marketing III, and future leadership positions as their knowledge, abilities, and responsibilities develop.

About James Engineering

James Engineering is a family-owned company with over 40 years of experience designing and manufacturing precision CNC deburring and finishing systems for customers in the aerospace, automotive, defense, medical, and other manufacturing industries.

Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
