About Narwhal Labs
Narwhal Labs is a fast-growing technology company based in Bristol. We build innovative, AI-powered solutions and are scaling quickly. Marketing plays a central role in how we shape our reputation, communicate our value and create demand in the markets we serve.
Role purpose
The Marketing Manager will own the day-to-day development and delivery of the Narwhal brand across campaigns, content and customer touch points. Working closely with growth, product, commercial and leadership teams, the role will turn business priorities into clear, distinctive and measurable brand activity.
This is a hands-on mid-level role for a marketer who can combine creative thinking with strong delivery. The post holder will manage projects from brief through to launch, bring consistency to our brand and messaging, and use insight and performance data to improve future activity.
Key responsibilities
Brand ownership and development
- Act as the day-to-day guardian of the Narwhal brand, ensuring a consistent identity, tone of voice and message across all channels.
- Translate the company strategy and proposition into clear brand plans, campaign themes and audience-led messaging.
- Maintain and improve brand guidelines, messaging frameworks, templates and core marketing assets.
- Build understanding of Narwhal's priority audiences, market position and competitive landscape.
Integrated campaigns
- Plan and deliver integrated brand and go-to-market campaigns across web, social, email, events, partnerships, PR and paid channels.
- Develop campaign briefs, objectives, audience journeys, channel plans, timelines and success measures.
- Coordinate campaign delivery across internal stakeholders and external partners, keeping work on brief, on time and within budget.
- Support product launches and commercial priorities with compelling positioning, narratives and campaign assets.
Content and communications
- Own and maintain the brand content calendar, balancing planned campaigns with timely opportunities.
- Create, commission and edit high-quality content including website copy, thought leadership, case studies, social content, email and sales materials.
- Turn complex product and technical information into clear, engaging stories for relevant audiences.
- Work with subject-matter experts and leaders to develop credible points of view and strengthen Narwhal's market presence.
Digital presence and brand experience
- Manage brand-led website updates and work with relevant colleagues or suppliers to improve content, usability and conversion.
- Oversee Narwhal's organic social presence and support paid activity where it contributes to brand and campaign objectives.
- Ensure the brand experience is coherent across digital platforms, events, presentations, recruitment materials and customer-facing communications.
Measurement and insight
- Define practical measures for brand and campaign performance, including awareness, engagement, reach, web behaviour and contribution to demand.
- Monitor results using analytics, platform data and audience feedback, producing clear updates and recommendations for stakeholders.
- Use insight, testing and post-campaign reviews to improve messaging, channel choices and creative effectiveness.
Collaboration and delivery
- Partner with growth, product, commercial, people and leadership teams to maintain alignment between brand activity and business priorities.
- Build clear briefs and provide constructive feedback to designers, freelancers, agencies and other external suppliers.
- Manage agreed brand marketing budgets responsibly and track spend against plans.
- Contribute ideas and expertise to wider marketing planning while remaining comfortable rolling up your sleeves to deliver the work.
What success looks like
- Narwhal has a clear, recognisable and consistently applied brand across its key touchpoints.
- Campaigns are well planned, delivered on time and connected to defined audience and business outcomes.
- Content clearly explains Narwhal's value and strengthens credibility with priority audiences.
- Marketing decisions are increasingly informed by performance data, audience insight and structured learning.
- Internal teams have the guidance, tools and assets they need to represent the brand confidently.
Experience and capabilities
Essential
- Around 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in brand, integrated marketing, content marketing or a related role.
- Experience in a B2B technology, SaaS, AI or other complex product environment.
- Experience planning and delivering multi-channel campaigns from initial brief through to reporting.
- Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
- A sound understanding of brand positioning, audience segmentation, content planning and digital marketing.
- Confidence managing multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders with a high level of organisation and attention to detail.
- Experience using analytics and campaign results to evaluate work and recommend improvements.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-moving scale-up environment.
Desirable
- Experience working with designers, agencies, freelancers or PR partners.
- Working knowledge of GA4, CRM and email platforms, CMS tools and social scheduling or reporting tools.
- Experience supporting product launches, events, partnerships, PR or thought-leadership programmes.
- Basic understanding of paid social, paid search, SEO and marketing attribution.
Ways of working
- Commercially aware, audience focused and able to connect creative ideas to business priorities.
- Proactive and comfortable creating structure when not every answer is already defined.
- Collaborative, clear and constructive when working with colleagues at all levels.
- Curious and willing to test, learn and adapt based on evidence.
- Accountable for both the quality of the work and the outcome it is intended to achieve.
