Torrison Stone & Garden is a premier design-build landscape and hardscape company based in Durham, CT. For more than 25 years, we have specialized in high-end residential outdoor living projects, including patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls, pool patios, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, veneer, and custom stone features.

We are growing and hiring full-time Masons to join our field crews. This role is for someone with masonry, hardscape, landscape construction, or general construction experience who wants to build high-quality outdoor spaces and continue developing their craft.

This is a hands-on field position. You will work alongside experienced masons, crew leaders, project managers, and field supervisors to install stone, pavers, block, concrete products, and related hardscape materials across a wide range of residential projects.

Position Overview

The Mason supports the installation of patios, walkways, walls, steps, stone features, and other outdoor living elements. This person should be dependable, physically capable, willing to learn, and comfortable working outdoors as part of a crew.

The right candidate takes pride in quality work, listens well, follows direction, works safely, and wants to grow within a respected company. Prior masonry or hardscape experience is preferred, but we are also interested in construction-minded candidates who have strong work ethic and want to build a long-term career in the trade.

Key Responsibilities

• Install natural stone, pavers, block, concrete products, caps, coping, and related hardscape materials
• Assist in the construction of patios, walkways, steps, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fireplaces, pool patios, and custom stone features
• Prepare bases, compact materials, move stone, cut materials, mix mortar, and support layout work
• Follow direction from Senior Masons, Crew Leaders, Foremen, Superintendents, and Project Managers
• Use hand tools, saws, compactors, levels, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other job site equipment safely
• Help maintain production pace while protecting the quality of the finished product
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials and tools
• Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe
• Protect client property, completed work, landscape areas, equipment, and materials
• Support other crew members and contribute to a productive team environment
• Follow company safety standards and job site procedures
• Learn TSG’s installation methods, quality standards, and expectations for high-end residential work

Requirements

• Construction, masonry, landscape construction, or hardscape experience preferred
• Experience installing pavers, natural stone, block, concrete products, walls, patios, or steps is a plus
• Valid driver’s license required
• Authorized to work in the United States
• English speaking required
• Spanish/English bilingual ability is a plus
• Ability to lift 75+ lbs and perform physical outdoor work
• Comfortable working in changing weather conditions
• Willingness to learn proper installation methods and safety practices
• Reliable transportation to company yard or assigned job location

Schedule

This is a full-time position. Work is generally Monday through Friday with seasonal overtime as needed based on workload, project schedules, and weather conditions.

Compensation is based on experience, skill level, reliability, and demonstrated ability.

Pay: $20.00 - $33.00 per hour
