Mason

• Structure Construction: Lay brick, concrete block, stone, or pre-cast panels for walls, foundations, chimneys, and patios, ensuring alignment, level, and plumb.
• Material Preparation & Cutting: Measure, cut, and shape materials using masonry saws, chisels, and hammers to meet technical specifications.
• Mortar & Concrete Mixing: Mix cement, mortar, and grout to proper consistency manually or using machines.
• Restoration & Repair: Repair, rebuild, and restore existing masonry structures, including tuckpointing, waterproofing, and patching worn surfaces.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read, analyze, and follow technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine layout and material needs.
• Site Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace; maintain hand and power tools in good working order.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Technical Skill: Proficient in bricklaying, stonemasonry, and concrete finishing techniques.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and spend long hours on feet.
• Tool Proficiency: Experienced with trowels, jointer, power saws, levels, and plumb bobs.
• Mathematical Aptitude: Ability to calculate angles, material quantities, and vertical/horizontal alignment.
• Experience/Certification: Typically requires an apprenticeship or 2+ years of on-the-job experience.
