Massage Therapist

Job Summary

Duties

• Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and medical massage tailored to individual client needs
• Conduct thorough client assessments to understand their health concerns and develop customized treatment plans
• Educate clients on self-care practices and recommend appropriate therapies for ongoing wellness
• Maintain detailed records of treatments, client progress, and treatment outcomes in compliance with privacy standards
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by adhering to sanitation protocols and occupational health guidelines
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and address any discomfort or concerns during sessions
• Stay current with industry best practices, new techniques, and relevant medical terminology to enhance service quality

Requirements

• Proven experience in massage therapy with proficiency in Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and medical massage techniques
• Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to accurately assess client needs and tailor treatments accordingly
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with diverse clients
• Certification in massage therapy from an accredited program; valid license or registration as required by local regulations
• CPR certification is required to ensure safety during all sessions
• Familiarity with pain management strategies and occupational health considerations is highly desirable
• Prior experience working in med spas or wellness centers is a plus
