Massage Therapist

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Self-Employed Massage & Beauty Therapist to join our team at Helen’s Hair & Beauty. The successful candidate will provide therapeutic massage services and/or complementary beauty treatments to clients, promoting relaxation, alleviating pain, and enhancing overall well-being.

This is a self-employed opportunity with room rental for your own bussiness , giving you complete independence to run your own business within a well-established, high-footfall salon operating in Darlington since 2008. You will have the opportunity to tap directly into an established, loyal client base and steady daily enquiries.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform customised massage therapy sessions tailored to individual client needs, including Swedish, deep tissue, aromatherapy, or sports therapy modalities.
• Option to offer additional beauty services you are trained in (e.g., nails, brows, lashes, or makeup) to cross-sell and maximize your daily income.
• Conduct client consultations to assess health history and specific concerns before treatment.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic workspace within your private treatment room in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Keep detailed records of treatments provided and client progress.
• Educate clients on self-care techniques and recommend appropriate follow-up treatments or therapies.
• Uphold professional standards of conduct, confidentiality, and client care at all times.
• Stay current with industry developments and continuously improve skills through ongoing professional development.

Qualifications & Skills

• Certification or licence as a Massage Therapist / Beauty Practitioner recognised by relevant regulatory bodies (e.g., NVQ Level 3, ITEC, BTEC, or equivalent).
• Demonstrable knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen attentively to clients’ needs.
• Prior experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential; guidance on salon integration will be provided if necessary.
• Ability to work flexibly within scheduled hours, setting your own diary to suit your lifestyle.
• A professional attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service and building a loyal client base.

Pay: £30.00-£60.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
