Massage Therapist / Wellness Practitioner

Job Summary

Join the Comfort Cocoons Home Care team as a Massage Therapist/Wellness Practitioner, where your skills will help seniors and clients experience relaxation, comfort, and improved overall well-being. We are looking for a compassionate and professional individual who has completed a massage therapy certificate, diploma, or recognized massage training program. RMT registration is not required for this position.

The ideal candidate will enjoy working with seniors and understand the importance of providing gentle, respectful, and individualized care. You will be responsible for providing professional massage services based on each client's needs, preferences, comfort level, and mobility.

Compensation: $35–$45 per hour, depending on experience, training, and qualifications. This range is competitive with a current Richmond posting for a non-RMT massage therapist, which advertises $35–$60/hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional massage sessions tailored to each client's individual needs and comfort level.
• Use appropriate techniques such as Swedish, relaxation, therapeutic, deep tissue, or other techniques within your training.
• Adapt massage pressure and techniques appropriately for seniors and clients with different mobility levels.
• Communicate with clients before and after each session to understand their needs and provide a comfortable experience.
• Maintain a clean, safe, respectful, and welcoming treatment environment.
• Provide basic aftercare and self-care recommendations when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and relevant client preferences.
• Follow Comfort Cocoons policies regarding client safety, privacy, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
• Recognize situations where massage may not be appropriate and communicate concerns when necessary.
• Maintain professional boundaries and treat every client with dignity, patience, and respect.
• Continue developing knowledge of massage and wellness techniques through ongoing learning.

Qualifications

• Completion of a massage therapy certificate, diploma, or recognized massage training program.
• RMT registration is not required.
• Previous experience providing professional massage services is preferred.
• Experience working with seniors or older adults is a strong asset.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and massage therapy principles.
• Ability to modify techniques according to individual client needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, reliable, and professional.
• Comfortable working independently and managing appointments responsibly.
• Strong commitment to client privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
• First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
• Professional liability insurance is an asset and may be required.
• Must live in Richmond, BC or the surrounding area and be able to travel to client locations when required.
