Master Barber/Stylist

Duties

• Perform professional barbering and hairstyling services including fades, shaves with straight razors, haircuts, blowouts, and intricate hair designs.
• Apply hair coloring techniques using color theory principles to achieve desired looks while maintaining healthy hair.
• Offer specialized treatments such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application to enhance client satisfaction.
• Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning tools and workstations in compliance with health regulations.
• Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service by actively listening to clients’ preferences and communicating clearly about styling options.
• Upsell retail products including hair care items and styling tools to boost revenue while educating clients on product benefits.
• Mentor junior stylists and apprentices by sharing techniques and offering constructive feedback to foster professional growth.
• Manage front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, booking appointments, and handling inquiries with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license as required by state regulations.
• Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of haircutting, styling, coloring, and grooming services.
• Proficiency in salon software such as MINDBODY for appointment management and retail tracking.
• Skilled in various hair care techniques including hair threading, makeup application, nail care, and retail sales strategies.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with diverse clientele.
• Experience working with hair extensions and eyelash extensions is highly desirable.
• Ability to perform advanced haircutting styles such as fades using straight razors confidently.
• Store management experience is a plus for those interested in leadership roles within the salon setting.
