About AGI

AGI is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, AGI is a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.

The Opportunity

The Master Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and driving execution of the production schedule to support customer delivery commitments. The role works closely with plant leadership and the production team to balance customer demand, material availability, capacity, labor, equipment, and operational priorities.

This is a hands-on manufacturing role requiring regular presence on the production floor to understand processes, workflow, constraints, and actual production performance. The Master Scheduler is expected to use this knowledge to develop realistic schedules, identify risks, adjust priorities as conditions change, and drive accountability to the production plan.

The Master Scheduler will monitor orders through the production process, communicate risks to delivery, and coordinate with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and other functions as needed to support execution and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate production schedules based on customer requirements, material availability, capacity, and operational priorities.
  • Maintain regular presence on the production floor to understand manufacturing processes, validate schedule assumptions, monitor progress, and identify constraints affecting execution.
  • Work directly with Production Leadership and Team Leads to establish priorities, review schedule performance, and drive accountability to the production plan and customer commitments.
  • Monitor work in process and order status, identify risks or delays, and coordinate appropriate actions or schedule adjustments as needed.
  • Evaluate available labor, equipment, material, and demonstrated production capability when developing and adjusting schedules.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing and Supply Chain to identify material shortages or supply risks that may affect production and delivery.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales, and other functions to resolve issues affecting production flow or customer commitments.
  • Maintain accurate job orders, scheduling information, and related ERP data necessary to support production execution and inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor schedule adherence, past due orders, and other relevant performance indicators and communicate significant risks or changes to leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning, scheduling, production flow, and delivery performance.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Three or more years of production planning, scheduling, operations, or related manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, production flow, capacity planning, and material requirements.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with ERP/MRP systems and common business software.
  • Ability to interpret production information, identify constraints, and translate requirements into an executable schedule.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
  • Ability to establish priorities, follow through on commitments, and drive accountability in a changing production environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Customer-focused approach with an understanding of the impact production performance has on delivery commitments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt as business and production needs change.
