The Role

As a Mastic Apprentice, you'll work on-site alongside qualified mastic operatives, learning the skills needed to prepare, mix, and lay mastic flooring/asphalt to a professional standard. You'll be enrolled on a Level 2 NVQ, combining hands-on site experience with structured training towards a recognised trade qualification. This is a genuine opportunity to start a skilled trade career with full support from day one.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assisting qualified mastic operatives on-site with the preparation, mixing, and laying of mastic and flooring materials
• Preparing work areas, including cleaning, protecting surfaces, and setting out tools and materials
• Learning to safely handle equipment, materials, and heating/melting apparatus used in mastic work
• Following all health & safety procedures and using PPE correctly at all times
• Attending college/training provider sessions and completing coursework towards the Level 2 NVQ
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe throughout each job
• Travelling to different sites/locations as required

What We're Looking For

• A genuine interest in learning a hands-on trade and building a long-term career in flooring
• Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
• Good physical fitness, as the role involves manual work and time on your feet
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople
• Basic maths and English skills (needed for the NVQ coursework)
• A full UK driving licence
• No prior experience necessary — full training will be provided
