Material Controller

We are looking for an experienced Material Controller to join our team for a Wind Power BOP Construction Project in Samar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling project materials from receiving and inspection through storage, issuance, inventory monitoring, and reconciliation.

The role will support the material requirements of transmission line, substation, access road, and other Balance of Plant (BOP) construction activities, ensuring that materials are properly received, stored, tracked, and available when needed for construction.

Key Responsibilities

Material Receiving & Inspection

• Receive and verify incoming construction materials against Purchase Orders, packing lists, delivery receipts, and other supporting documents.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection and acceptance.
• Prepare and maintain Material Receiving Reports (MRRs) and related documentation.
• Check and report material shortages, damages, discrepancies, and delivery issues.

Inventory Management & Control

• Maintain accurate and updated inventory records using MS Excel or ERP systems.
• Monitor stock levels and ensure availability of materials required for ongoing construction activities.
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Investigate and report discrepancies between physical stock and inventory records.
• Implement proper material identification, tagging, and stock control procedures.

Material Issuance & Tracking

• Issue materials based on approved Material Requisition Slips (MRS) or authorized requests.
• Verify proper authorization before releasing materials to construction teams and subcontractors.
• Monitor and record material consumption by work area, activity, or subcontractor.
• Maintain proper traceability of high-value and critical project materials.

Warehouse & Site Storage Management

• Ensure proper storage and handling of construction and electrical materials.
• Maintain appropriate storage conditions for steel materials, cables, electrical equipment, structural materials, aggregates, cement, and other BOP materials.
• Maintain proper warehouse/site storage layout, labeling, and identification.
• Ensure storage areas are organized, clean, and compliant with project HSSE requirements.

Coordination & Material Planning

• Coordinate with Procurement, Logistics, Construction, Engineering, QA/QC, and Site Management teams regarding material requirements and deliveries.
• Monitor material delivery schedules based on project requirements and construction progress.
• Support material planning and forecasting based on the construction schedule.
• Assist in expediting critical materials to prevent construction delays.

Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain Material Receiving Reports, Material Issuance Reports, Inventory Status Reports, and Material Reconciliation Reports.
• Provide regular and accurate material status updates to Management and the Project Team.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation for project tracking, audits, and compliance.

Loss Prevention & Cost Control

• Monitor material usage to minimize wastage, damage, loss, and unauthorized issuance.
• Implement proper material handling and storage practices.
• Monitor excess, slow-moving, or obsolete materials and report them to Management.

Quality, Compliance & Safety

• Ensure materials are properly controlled and handled in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC regarding material inspection and documentation requirements.
• Follow applicable HSSE requirements for material handling, storage, and transportation.
• Support internal and external audits related to material management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in material control, warehouse management, inventory management, or related functions.
• Experience in construction, EPC, power, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Experience handling materials for transmission line, substation, civil works, or other BOP construction is an advantage.
• Knowledge of construction and industrial materials, equipment, and proper handling procedures.
• Familiarity with inventory management, warehousing, stock control, and material tracking systems.
• Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.
• Experience in material receiving, inspection, storage, issuance, and inventory reconciliation.
• Understanding of material planning aligned with construction schedules.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills with Procurement, Logistics, QA/QC, Construction, and Engineering teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
• Knowledge of material handling and warehouse safety practices.
• Willing to work on-site in Calbayog City, Samar.

Pay: Php30,000.00 - Php40,000.00 per month
