Material Controller (Data Center Engineering Company)

About the role

The Material Controller is responsible for coordinating material readiness, tracking inventory, and managing the flow of raw materials and components to production lines. This role involves receiving and inspecting engineering, mechanical, and electrical components, maintaining precise stock records, and coordinating across departments to prevent delays and ensure operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate material readiness, track inventory, and issue raw materials or components to production lines based on daily/weekly schedules
• Check incoming engineering, mechanical, and electrical components or supplies for accuracy, quality, and quantity against delivery orders and purchase requisitions
• Maintain precise stock records, enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory methods, and conduct routine cycle counts or physical stock checks
• Work closely with the EPG Engineering System procurement, project engineering, and shop floor/site teams to flag potential shortages and prevent delays
• Log material movements, discrepancies, and inventory reports in the company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system or inventory logs

About you

• Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in material control, inventory management, or warehouse logistics within a manufacturing or M&E construction environment
• Familiarity with local Malaysian mechanical and electrical engineering installation materials
• Proficiency in inventory software/ERP tools
• Good MS Excel skills
• Strong organizational traits
• Sharp attention to detail
• Proactive communication abilities
