What they need

Gradian is an engineering-led, full-line thermal solutions partner serving data center and other mission-critical, commercial, and industrial markets. Headquartered in Maple Grove, MN, with additional facilities across North America, we design and manufacture liquid cooling systems, air handling equipment, heat rejection units, and modular, factory-assembled thermal management solutions.

Gradian was founded through the unification of four complementary, established brands: MAS HVAC, Daedex, DeepCoolAI, and EcoChillers. Together, we act as a single-source provider, deploying cooling technologies as scalable systems optimized for efficiency, spatial constraints, and overall performance. With a vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing model, we pair rapid design turnaround with precision fabrication, so customers can move faster on complex projects where reliability, timeline, and quality all matter.

Why work here At Gradian, you'll work alongside others who get genuinely fired up by complex problems, see your work go from first sketch to job site in weeks, not years, and know that while we're developing the technologies critical for AI infrastructure to scale, our culture remains people-first by design.

It is core to our identity that we operate as one team — driving to win together, energizing others, and building lasting relationships that make the work fun and rewarding.

Position Summary Gradian Thermal Solutions is seeking a highly organized and hands-on Material Coordinator to support material readiness across our manufacturing projects.

The Material Coordinator is responsible for maintaining accurate visibility of material throughout the facility, including material locations, quantities, project allocation, shortages, and staging status. This position will work closely with Production, Fabrication, Logistics, Purchasing, Planning, and Project teams to ensure the right material is in the right place at the right time.

This role is critical to supporting production flow and preventing schedule disruptions caused by missing, misplaced, or incorrectly allocated material.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track material requirements across multiple active manufacturing projects.
  • Maintain accurate visibility of what material is available, how much is available, where it is located, and which project it belongs to.
  • Perform physical material counts and validate quantities against project and production requirements.
  • Ensure material is properly identified, labeled, organized, and assigned to designated locations.
  • Coordinate material staging based on production schedules and project priorities.
  • Review upcoming projects for material readiness before they are released to the production floor.
  • Identify shortages, missing components, incorrect quantities, and other material risks before they impact production.
  • Maintain and communicate project shortage lists and drive issues through resolution.
  • Partner with Purchasing and Planning on shortages and material delivery priorities.
  • Work with Receiving and Logistics to ensure incoming material is quickly identified and routed to the appropriate project or storage location.
  • Support Production and Fabrication teams with material location and availability questions.
  • Investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system quantities.
  • Support cycle counting and inventory accuracy initiatives.
  • Coordinate the disposition and storage of excess or unused project material.
  • Maintain organized project staging and material storage areas.
  • Support 5S, visual management, and continuous improvement activities within material areas.
  • Escalate material risks that could impact production schedules or customer commitments.
  • Assist with developing and improving standard processes for material identification, staging, storage, and movement

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, materials, warehouse, logistics, inventory control, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable spending significant time on the production floor.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control, material flow, and production processes.
  • Ability to perform physical inventory counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP or inventory management systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with basic Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Production, Purchasing, Planning, Logistics, and Engineering.

Benefits

  • Medical, vision, and dental plans
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance
  • Group term life insurance coverage
  • HSA, FSA, and Dependent Care plans available
  • 8 paid holidays, 4 floating holidays, and generous PTO policy
  • 401k matching
  • Company paid events
  • Annual safety shoe allowance
  • Education assistance program
