Material Engineer

• Manage the complete material submittal and approval process for interior fit-out projects.
• Prepare and submit *Material Submittals (MAS)*, technical data sheets, samples, and compliance documents for consultant/client approval.
• Review project specifications, drawings, BOQs, and material requirements to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain samples, quotations, technical documents, and certifications.
• Research and evaluate interior materials based on quality, durability, aesthetics, cost, availability, and project requirements.
• Maintain material approval trackers and follow up with consultants and project teams to ensure timely approvals.
• Coordinate with Design, Estimation, Procurement, Project, and Site teams regarding material selection and availability.
• Conduct site inspections to verify that delivered and installed materials match approved samples and specifications.
• Identify non-compliant materials and coordinate necessary corrective actions.
• Assist in *value engineering* by proposing suitable alternative materials without compromising quality or design intent.
• Ensure materials comply with relevant UAE regulations, fire-rating requirements, project specifications, and client standards.
• Maintain proper records of approved materials, samples, technical documents, and supplier information.
• Attend technical meetings with consultants, clients, suppliers, and project teams when required.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in *Civil Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field*.
• *Minimum 3–5 years of UAE experience in Interior Fit-Out / Joinery projects.*
• *Interior Fit-Out experience is mandatory.*
• Strong knowledge of *interior materials, finishes, joinery materials, flooring, ceilings, wall finishes, furniture, and decorative materials*.
• Hands-on experience in *Material Submittals (MAS), material approvals, samples, technical data sheets, and compliance documentation*.
• Good understanding of material specifications, quality standards, and consultant approval procedures.
• Experience coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams.
• Knowledge of UAE fire-rated materials, authority requirements, and project specifications is preferred.
• Proficiency in *MS Office and Excel*; AutoCAD knowledge is an added advantage.
• Strong coordination, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple material submissions simultaneously.
• Experience in value engineering and material cost optimization is an added advantage.
• Immediate joiners or candidates available on short notice will be preferred.

*Key Requirement:* Candidates should have practical experience handling *interior fit-out material approvals from material identification and supplier coordination through MAS submission, consultant approval, procurement, and site verification.*
