Material Handler

The Material Handler is responsible for assisting with the receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of materials within the facility. This position supports daily warehouse and production operations by ensuring materials are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently. The role requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn material handling procedures and equipment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES- ESSENTIAL

• Complies with all safety requirements, rules, and guidelines; reports any safety issues immediately
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders or delivery documents
• Load, unload, move, and stack materials manually or using equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks
• Store materials in designated locations and maintain proper labeling and organization
• Pick, pack, and stage materials for production or shipment
• Maintain accurate inventory records and report shortages or damages
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
• Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, warehouse staff, and production teams
• Safely operates forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area; ensures inventory is in the right storage locations
• Participates and supports our company’s continuous improvement program; supports other tasks as assigned
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Commitment to workplace safety and proper handling procedures
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to meet physical job requirements, including lifting, standing, and repetitive movement
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime if required
• Forklift or material handling equipment certification preferred but not required
• Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics experience is an asset

BENEFICIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in warehouse, material handling, or manufacturing environments preferred
• Knowledge of inventory control procedures and basic warehouse operations
• Ability to safely operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (certification a plus)
• Basic math, reading, and record-keeping skills
• Familiarity with inventory management systems or warehouse management software preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to safety procedures and workplace cleanliness
