Material Handler

Essential Duties

• Safely operate a forklift.
• Maintain the forklifts with daily inspections and assuring the proper charging and watering tasks.
• Pull all film for the production machines as needed. Use the proper procedures to pull material from the Job Jacket, Pick Tickets, perform the move transactions in the Shop Floor System. Check the pulled film against the pick ticket and job jacket information.
• Wraps pallets of finished goods to be shipped or stored in the finished goods racks. Complete the proper paperwork in the Shop Floor System. Ensure pallets are labeled correctly.
• Maintain the supply of packing materials needed for slitting, i.e. pallets, cardboard, etc.
• Receive and ship loads as instructed.
• Maintain the condition of the core cutting area. Keep it supplied, clean and organized.
• Keep all trash, debris and loose film from the plant floor. Perform any and all sweeping and cleaning tasks as indicated.
• Pull solvent from the solvent trainer when instructed.
• Sort and pack pallets, end boards, core plugs and cleats for shipment to recycler.
• Ensure proper disposal of general refuge from the production floor collected in the compactor area. Keep the dock area cleaned and organized.
• Train new associates.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Be available to cover absences within the department as requested by manager.

• Assure compliance with all SQF Procedure requirements.

• Assure compliance with all 5S procedures and requirements.
• Assure all products are manufactured in a safe, quality manner.
• Assure compliance with all customer specifications.
• Promote and enforce compliance with all employees.
