Material Handler

Material Handler (MH): Individual with experience in both customer service and inventory management. The ideal candidate for this role has experience effectively auditing packaging supplies, picking and packing orders and delivery orders to customers.

Job Description: The Material Handler will report to the Operations Manager and/or the Inventory Manager of a Cannabis Cultivation facility to complete the day-to-day operations of incoming and outgoing inventory. Maintaining organized work areas and assisting in order fulfillment. Material Handler is responsible for working with operations team members to organize, process orders and packaging supplies in an efficient and effective manner. The Material Handler role must participate in their job with professionalism and safety, consistently.

This role will also be asked to fill in as needed for the following roles; Delivery Driver and Harvest Trim Associate (HTA).

The Material Handler responsibilities & duties are:

• Picking and packing orders for customers
• Organizing finished goods storage area
• Audit incoming packaging supplies and maintain an organized storage of these items
• Regularly auditing both finished goods and packaging supplies
• Supply packaging team with correct amounts on packaging supplies per week

The Delivery Driver responsibilities & duties are:

• Assisting the delivery driver during large order quantities
• Filling in for the delivery driver when they are absent
• Taking separate deliveries on heavy delivery days
• Maintain secure and safe transportation practices to prevent damage, loss, or contamination of cannabis products.
• Accurately create, maintain and submit all necessary documentation for deliveries, including pick lists, manifests, invoices, and delivery logs, in compliance with cannabis industry regulations and/or company standards.

The HTA responsibilities & duties are:

• Assisting packaging department when time allows
• Harvesting plants, manicuring buds, identifying cannabis contaminants, sorting, batching, and weighing product
• Make sure the facility is clean and meets all safety requirements
• Assisting Facilities Maintenance as needed

Required Skills:

• Ability to work independently in a highly organized manner.
• Ability to use standard office equipment, and particularly computer equipment and software such as word processing, database management, spreadsheet applications, and electronic mail.
• Must pass NJ CRC required background and drug screening.
• Basic reading and writing capabilities to understand and follow written instructions.
• Basic Mathematics required for inventory, projections, and measurements.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations is required.
• Active listening and effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to a variety of audiences, are critical.
• Excellent time-management skills;

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, Absolute reliability, and honesty.
• Ability to focus for long periods of time, Attention to detail.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with GPS systems

Scheduling Requirements:

• May need to be available to work evenings and weekends.
• Must be able to occasionally provide coverage for colleagues to always ensure proper staffing levels.
• May occasionally need to work major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Physical Requirements:

• Extended time standing, walking, bending, and reaching; This position occasionally requires the extended and repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers to cut and manipulate small objects.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 100 feet.

Pay: $18.00 per hour
