Material Handler

Job Summary

Trackless Vehicles designs and manufactures purpose-built municipal tractors and attachments trusted by municipalities, institutions, and organizations worldwide, supporting property and infrastructure maintenance year-round.

We are seeking a Material Handler to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the movement, handling, organization, and tracking of raw materials and components throughout the Fabrication department. This role supports production by ensuring materials and parts are available and properly positioned for processing.

The successful candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple tasks throughout the day, while maintaining accurate inventory records and following established safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Move raw materials, components, and parts throughout the Fabrication department to support production and processing requirements.
• Unload incoming trucks and receive raw materials, ensuring materials are handled and organized appropriately.
• Count incoming parts and components and accurately record their locations within the warehouse or designated storage areas.
• Perform periodic raw material inventory counts to meet established cycle counting requirements and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Pick, organize, and assemble component kits for delivery to the welding department in preparation for production.
• Retrieve required fixtures from storage and position them in designated weld cells along with the appropriate kit components.
• Assist with the setup and positioning of fixtures as instructed by the welding supervisor.
• Maintain organized material storage areas and ensure parts, fixtures, and materials are stored in their designated locations.
• Complete required inventory records, material tracking, and related documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow all applicable workplace health and safety procedures, including safe material handling practices.

Skills & Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to count parts accurately and perform inventory-related tasks.
• Ability to work independently while following instructions and coordinating with supervisors and production personnel.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to read and write in English to understand instructions, complete documentation, and maintain accurate records.
• Basic computer skills, including accurate data entry.
• Previous lift truck or forklift operating experience is considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50lbs.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Ability to frequently bend, kneel, reach, stretch, and work in various positions.
• Ability to safely work around moving production equipment and machinery.
• Good physical stamina and ability to maintain productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in a manufacturing/production environment.
• Work may involve elevated noise levels and working near production machinery and equipment.
• Required to wear appropriate PPE.
• Must follow all company safety procedures.

Pay: From $27.50 per hour

Expected hours: 43.5 per week
