Job Posting: Materials Specialist

Location: Golden Meadow, LA

Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00 / hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (8 hours/day)

Position Type: Full-Time / Industrial

Position Purpose

The Materials Specialist is responsible for executing warehouse activities within the assigned division and location. This role ensures adherence to company standards and good housekeeping practices with a strong focus on safety and efficiency, ensuring goods are received, stored, and issued to internal and external customers in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will maintain inventory accuracy both physically and within the warehouse management system, while supporting planning and stock replenishment activities.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

• Inventory Control: Perform weekly to bi-weekly physical counts and cycle counts for all facilities in Port Fourchon, maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System (WMS), and manage stock transfers and issuances.
• Tracking & Documentation: Fill out live Excel tracking files so facilities can view available products, maintain timely WMS input, and implement required documentation and labeling per company and local standards.
• Warehouse Operations: Manage goods reception, picking, and packing for both dry and liquid materials, ensuring customer orders are filled accurately.
• Continuous Improvement: Actively support operations, execute 5S housekeeping exercises to improve warehouse efficiency, and monitor local strategies to reduce excess and aging stock.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: No previous professional warehouse experience is required (Skills-based hiring; worker training provided at the Training Center).
• Key Skills: Strong attention to detail, accuracy in record-keeping, and the ability to handle physical warehousing tasks (picking, packing, and cycle counting).
• Safety & Compliance: Commitment to safety standards; respirator is not required.
