Material Handler Rebond - Shredder 2nd Shift

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Material Handler (Rebond- Shredder) on our 2nd shift team. This position is located at our manufacturing plant in Temple, Tx.

In this role, you will safely operate a forklift to our shredding machine to process foam, directly supporting our daily production schedule to create high-quality finished carpet cushion products. Initial 4–6-week training on 1st shift while full team is onboarded. Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operational excellence.

Job Description:

• Load the shredder using a forklift equipped with a cage to eliminate fall hazards.
• Verify that the shredder is in proper working order on a daily basis.
• Adjust and configure control settings on the shredder based on the specific type of foam being processed.
• Feed the shredder at a steady, constant rate to ensure maximum production efficiency.
• Coordinate closely with the Grinding Operator to ensure the correct raw materials are being placed into the shredder.
• Observe safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and use all equipment and materials properly.
• Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work area.

Skills / Requirements

• High school or GED
• Forklift experience or ability to complete company certification.
• Ability to accurately read and interpret a tape measure.
• Successfully complete HAZMAT Training.
• Complete and pass annual audiometric and pulmonary testing.
• Strong basic reading, writing, and math skills to interpret written information and present numerical data effectively.
• Speak clearly, listen for clarification, write informatively, and participate effectively in team settings.
• Easily adapt to workplace changes, shifting production demands, delays, or unexpected events.
