Material Handler/Forklift Operator

Job Overview

Jonas Corporation, a plastics manufacturing firm, is seeking a dedicated and energetic Material Handler / Forklift Operator to join our quickly growing team at our Savannah, Georgia facility! As a Material Handler, you will be a valuable part of our manufacturing logistics team, responsible for ensuring materials used and produced during manufacturing are transported appropriately while observing the highest standards of safety. In addition, our Material Handlers work closely with other team members to maintain a clean work environment and improve our warehousing processes.

Responsibilities

• Directly responsible for production uptime regarding resupply of raw materials and supplies.
• Maintain and track warehousing of manufactured goods and work in process items.
• Aid production team members as necessary to ensure manufacturing processes continue uninterrupted.
• Maintain conformance with safety, environmental, housekeeping, and 6S standards.
• Other shop floor or warehouse related duties and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 1+ year of forklift experience or forklift certification is required.
• Must be able to handle regular walking, standing, sitting, and frequent visual attention.
• Must be able to complete tasks that require pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Must maintain a positive, respectful attitude while using clear communication with other associates and management.
• Must be comfortable working in an indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to various elements of heat, cold, noise, and dust.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.25 - $19.75 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
