Material Handler/Recycle Tech 1st Shift

IMMEDIATE HIRE

Must be fluent in the English language.

This 1st shift position (5:45AM to 2:15PM) will be responsible for following established policies and procedures.

Material Handler Responsibilities:

Ensure proper and timely flow of all materials and products from arrival until stored as finished goods. Provide flow of all in-house material and products including rework, scrap, machinery, equipment and garbage. This is done primarily by driving hi-lo or using a hand jack.

Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.

Conveys materials to or from storage or work sites to designated areas, using hand truck or another device.

Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination, using hand-operated crane or hoist, or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.

Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power equipment, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using brooms, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.

Properly maintain housekeeping externally, in dumpster and container storage area, sweep and pick up all debris. Pick up debris from storm drain and surrounding area as well. Keep dumpster lid always closed.

Shovel loose materials, such as plastics into machine hoppers or barrels and scrap boxes.

May occasionally operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.

Ensure that all skids stored outside are properly covered. Skids should not be exposed to water.

Immediately notify Team Leader of all discrepancies to established quality checks (ie, sample boards, inspection instructions, SPC, etc.).

Responsible for following all internal and OSHA required safety procedures.

Adherence to all company policies and procedures.

Regrinder/Recycle Tech Responsibilities:

· Collect, salvage, and sort reusable or recyclable materials or waste materials such as: Paper, Carboard, Packing Materials, Scrap Metal, Glass ETC.

· Use Equipment such as: Compactors, Vertical Balers, Forklift, Tuggers, Shredders, ETC.

· Work with ropaks, gaylords, iatas, gondolas and other collection containers.

· Inspects materials and sorts items or materials according to type, size, condition, coloring, marking, or other characteristics.

· Weighs materials and containers and keeps records of total amount of waste collected

· Sweep and pick up trash from around dumpsters, utility courtyards, and fence lines.

· Monitor hazardous waste collection areas or handle hazardous waste occasionally (less than 33% of day).

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
