Material Planner

About the role

Lead and govern material planning activities, inventory management, supplier conditions, material transition programs and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve service, inventory and operational performance objectives across in-house and co-manufacturing operations. Ensure the timely availability of raw materials and packaging materials required for production and business demand while optimizing inventory investment and minimizing supply risk.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage raw material and packaging material planning based on production plans, inventory policies and business requirements
• Ensure material requirements are accurately generated through MRP and aligned with planning assumptions
• Review and optimize planning parameters including lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, re-order points and planning calendars
• Manage inventory levels of raw materials and packaging materials to balance customer service, operational efficiency and working capital objectives
• Monitor inventory health and identify risks related to shortages, excess inventory, aging stock and slow-moving materials
• Coordinate with Procurement and suppliers to ensure material availability and supply continuity
• Monitor supplier delivery performance and lead escalation of critical supply issues
• Lead proactive identification of material supply risks including capacity constraints, extended lead times, quality issues and supply disruptions
• Manage material supply planning for co-manufacturing operations to ensure uninterrupted production
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, inventory performance, process efficiency and system utilization

About you

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field
• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in material planning or supply planning in food and beverage manufacturing supply chain environments
• Strong knowledge of MRP processes and ERP systems
• Experience in SAP is preferred
• Experience working with suppliers and procurement teams
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken
