Material Planner

Job Overview

Duties

• Develop and maintain accurate production schedules using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) within ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to manage purchasing activities, ensuring timely acquisition of materials aligned with production needs.
• Monitor logistics and inventory management systems to optimize warehouse operations, reduce waste, and improve inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure materials are delivered on schedule, managing supplier relationships and resolving any supply disruptions promptly.
• Conduct demand planning and inventory control activities, utilizing spreadsheets and inventory management tools to forecast needs accurately.
• Support manufacturing operations by planning materials flow, managing inventory levels, and adjusting schedules as necessary for lean manufacturing principles.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication between production, procurement, logistics, and warehouse teams to streamline processes and resolve issues efficiently.

Experience

• Proven experience in materials management within a manufacturing company environment.
• Strong technical proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially spreadsheets.
• Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain management, procurement, demand planning, and logistics inventory management.
• Hands-on experience with inventory management systems, warehouse operations, and production scheduling tools.
• Supplier management experience with a focus on building strong vendor relationships and negotiating terms.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles, inventory control techniques, and demand forecasting methods.
• Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate effectively across departments and external partners.
